Matt Lydon, great young poet from New Hampshire, is doing a lot of managing these days --  often simultaneously parenting newbie (our first baby!) Anna Bea w/ Mama Meaghan...... chances are, if you drop by in the AM you'll run into our head barista, Jabari Jones, who's in his second stint at the Club -- great poet, puppeteer, philosophe and my what coffee!... wonderful Shappy is primo tender de bar and a sensitive little poetry boy whose Book of Ass won a Firecracker Award...Moonshine is that rather smiley presence you find so often behind -- and like as not reading  a poem on -- the bar. Runnerup in this year's Mr Lower East Side Contest, he was robbed! Ask him for an Allen Gin-sberg ... Speaking of babies, say hi to the McKibbenses: George McKibbens is our doorman, often assisted by wife and co-poet grande RAC, daughter Piper, son Holden...  Our Production Manager is Sascha von Oertzen, -- write right now if you've got technical questions...  who also handles sound duties here, along with DJ Stefan Zeniuk, who plays bari w/ the great band Los Vinos in a regular gig at the Club, and Matt Homan. ...at the coffee shop you'll run into Lindsay (Binz) Gilbert and Simone Gorrindo and Leticia Vilario (our first intern to make it to staff -- congratz!) who are poets as well & musician Glen Bingham (Plastic East)-- buy their chapbooks, taste the best coffee in town!..on weekends you'll meet  Judy Bosita and Andrew Katz behind the bar, also dear Dawn Saylor, who poured java doe tears in Kalamazoo before relocating here -- she's a Black Belt Slam Poet, so tred gently, and also manages --  Viva La femme de la renaissance.......Galinsky handles Listings for us, creates our biweekly calendar, and triples as our handyman...Sasha Forte, bass player for King Missile III, works the PR angles...welcome great Low East poet Deanna Zandt who is aiding in the development of our nonprofit, Bowery Arts, and who is handling the website as WhipMistress...  Ed Greer calls. You're opening a poetry club without me? Actually it was Limor Tomer who put us in touch. Ed, let's stop this foolishness and go home to Bally Castle!... That'd be Michael Cirelli ..and and Jackie Sheeler, who created our website and works with us on the NYC Poetry Calendar, runs the Pink Pony series and the amazing www.poetz.com....Herb Stender, the Atheist Rabbi real estate agent of the Lower East Side, helped us find our gorgeous space...and our lawyers are none other than spoken word god John S.
